The Bela Vista Rice Project is awaiting a concession of 5,000 hectares of land to start producing rice on an industrial scale, the chairman of the board of LAP/UBUMTO SA (Libya Africa Investment Portfolio), Filipe Gago told Macauhub in Matutuine, a district in the south of the Mozambican province of Maputo.

The project, which is expected to cost US$33 million and is entirely funded by the Libyan Fund for African Development, is located 80 kilometres from Maputo.
