Conakry, Guinea - The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has announced a grant of US$18 million to help Guinea attain food self-sufficiency, the organization’s director for Africa, Mohamed Béavogui, said Thursday after an audience with President Alpha Condé. Beavogui, who is Guinean, said that the plan to lift the Guinean agricultural sector by president Condé had won IFAD over, hence the organisation sent to Guinea a high-powered delegation to discuss with the country’s new authorities.
