SC 15 meeting, June 2019
The 15th CARD Steering Committee Meeting was held in Nairobi, Kenya on 10th June 2019. Co-chaired by NEPAD and WFP, the meeting was attended by the representatives from ten SC member organizations, namely, AfricaRice, AGRA, FARA, IFAD, IRRI, JICA, JIRCAS, NEPAD, World Bank and WFP. Islamic Development Bank was also in attendance as an observer. Apologies: AfDB, FAO, COMESA, EAC, ECCAS and ECOWAS.
The objectives of the meeting;
- To finalize the issue of how to incorporate RECs into CARD SC meetings.
- To brief on launching the CARD Phase II at the TICAD 7 side event in Yokohama, Japan.
- To discuss the extension of SC membership to IsDB.
- To discuss the annual plan of 2019/2020 and plan for the 8thCARD General meeting.
