JICA Training and Dialogue Program, “Promotion of African Rice Development through Strengthening Coordination between CARD and CAADP for Sub-Saharan Countries”, Tsukuba, Japan, 17 August – 26 August 2015

The final year of three-year training and dialogue program on “Promotion of African Rice Development through Strengthening Coordination between CARD and CAADP for Sub-Saharan Countries” is organized by JICA Tsukuba International Center in collaboration with the CARD Secretariat.  One week program is conducted for two weeks in a row; the first week for seven Anglophone countries and the second week for 8 Francophone CARD member countries.  Each country delegates consists of two government high rank officials representing CAADP and CARD/NRDS Task Force.

The objectives of the program are as below:

  1. To learn CARD process and necessity to strengthen its alignment with CAADP;
  2. To review and improve Country Action Plans – How to integrate CARD process into CAADP- formulated first year of the program;
  3. To learn Japanese experiences in agricultural policies – Mechanization and Rural Finance- through lectures and field visits.
