Paddy production, Area, and Yield: Phase 1 Baseline: FAOSTAT (figures for 2007); Phase 2 Baseline: FAOSTAT (figures for 2018); Current: FAOSTAT (figures for 2021); 2030 Target: Since the target setting in the new NRDS has not yet been finalized, the targets for 2030 are tentatively set against 2018 figures (= Phase 2 Baseline), as follows: Production: 100% increase; Area: 37% increase; and Yield: 46% increase. These percentages are the same as the rates of increase for the respective indicators set as targets at the CARD initiative level.

Self-sufficiency: FAOSTAT Food Balance Sheet (2020). Data are converted from paddy to milled rice equivalent, using the rate of 0.667, which is also used by FAOSTAT. Consumption refers to the element “Food” in Food Balance Sheet.
