About JICA

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is an implementing body of the various components of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) such as technical cooperation projects, acceptance of trainees and development studies.
By the structural reform of governmental agencies, this October, JICA is merging with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), and will have additional functions such as yen loans and grant aid. With this restructure, JICA will become one of the world’s largest bilateral development agencies and be able to offer not only the technical cooperation, but also grant aid and loan assistance, all “under one roof.”
